More than seventy per cent of Glamorgan’s research activity was assessed as being of a quality recognised internationally for its originality, significance and rigour. Ten per cent of this research was recognised as world-leading.

- 60% of General Engineering research was judged to be of World or International excellence
- 50% of Built Environment research was judged to be of World or International excellence
- 50% of History research was judged to be of World or International excellence
- 45% of Social Work and Social Policy & Administration research was judged to be of World or International excellence
- 40% of Computer Science and Informatics Administration research was judged to be of World or International excellence
- 35% of Nursing and Midwifery research was judged to be of World or International excellence
- 30% of Drama, Dance and Performing Arts research was judged to be of World or International excellence
- 30% of Communications, Cultural and Media Studies research was judged to be of World or International excellence
